Amaechi Is A Total Failure Cant Enter Aso Rock Anymore – Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, reproached his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday, when he described the previous Minister of Transportation as a “total failure” who no longer has access to Aso Villa in Abuja.

“This should be the last time that you (Amaechi) will talk about this state because you are a total failure as far as this state is concerned. A total failure. Even what is supposed to come to us, you blocked it, but we didn’t bother.

“You think you will not finish as a minister, you have left. I hear he can’t even enter Villa now. All those periods you intimidated police people, and army people are over. You used to tell them, ‘The President is angry with you’. Now, go and tell them,” Wike said as he commissioned a remodeled former RivBank Building in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Wike and Amaechi have been in constant disagreement for quite a long time while they endeavor to enthrone their respective political parties in the state.

Amaechi was Rivers’s governor from May 2007 to May 2015. The highest level member of the ruling All Progressives Congress was Minister of Transportation for seven cumulative years till mid-May 2022, when he resigned to pursue his presidential ambition. Amaechi, however, lost to ex-governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu.

Then again, Wike, who has been the state governor since May 2015, is a firm member of the Peoples Democratic Party. He likewise contested his party’s presidential primary but lost to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar from Adamawa State.

Amaechi had on Saturday thrown gabs at Wike at the funeral service of a traditional ruler, Alabo Graham-Douglas, in the Akuku Toru Local Government Area of the state.

The former minister had thumped Wike, who was missing at the funeral service, saying he figured the state government would get a sense of ownership of everything concerning the Kalabari chief and recognize him.

Be that as it may, Wike on Monday, answered Amaechi, saying he decided to avoid the entombment since it was politicized. The governor proceeded to detail how he constructed the roads leading to the residence and palace of the traditional ruler when he was alive.

The governor likewise claimed that he raised Alabo’s stool to the status of a first-class monarch before his passing.

“Don’t distract us again or else I will say more things,” Wike further warned the former minister.
