Muslim MuslimTicket:YourUtterancesCapableOfPromotingDiscord&#;GandujetoLawal

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has cautioned former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, to be mindful of his comment on the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the party.

Ganduje’s appeal comes as reactions have continued to trail last Sunday’s choice of a fellow Muslim, Senator Kashim Shettima, as running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Muslim.

In his reaction, Lawal did say the Muslim-Muslim ticket was a disaster, error and evil. He also said Shettima is the Northern governor’s Greek gift’ to Tinubu and that it was dead on arrival.

He said if Tinubu was to win the election, it would make him a sectional leader and that is not what the country needed now.

But in a response to Lawal, the Kano State governor yesterday assured that the Muslim-Muslim ticket will not in any way result in the segregation of Christians in the country.

Ganduje, in a statement by Kano State Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, appealed to the former SGF, Christian APC members and other Nigerians to be mindful of their utterances.

According to him, “It is unfortunate that at a time the country needs to be united for national development and religious tolerance, a man of Babachir’s calibre, who is highly respected, would spread falsehood without much consideration to his position in the All Progressives Congress and close relationship with the party’s flag-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The governor charged party members to support the party for quality leadership that will deliver the country from her many challenges.
