Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), was reportedly detained by London immigration officials while celebrating Easter in the United Kingdom.

According to a statement by the Head of Obi-Datti Media, Diran Onifade. Onifade revealed that Obi arrived at Heathrow Airport on April 7, 2023, and was handed a detention note by immigration officials while queuing for airport protocols.

He was questioned for a long time, despite living in the UK for over a decade. The reason for his detention was due to an impersonator committing weighty crimes and other dubious acts in Obi’s name. Since the impersonator is still at large, the scenario is unimaginable, and Obi could be implicated in a series of forbidden acts and even be framed in a manner that could be a huge embarrassment to him, his family, his party, the Obidient movement, and Nigeria, where he is regarded as the conscience of the people.

Onifade said that Obi has been under attack since the February 25th, 2023, presidential election in which he came third out of 18 contestants as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

His supporters and many other election watchers, including international observers, believed he won the election but was manipulated out. The Federal Government directed him to go to court, and since he accepted, there have been severe attacks on him from all corners, including having his telephone line bugged.

Onifade suggests that those urging him to leave the country may have planted the impersonators to tarnish Obi’s reputation further. However, Obi remains undeterred and is ready to pursue whichever path his creator has destined for him in Nigeria.
